Balzac Paris x talm: A joint interview with Chrysoline and Kenza
When talm meets Balzac Paris, the result is a collaboration filled with meaning.
A limited-edition pouch, designed as a thoughtful gift that stands the test of time. Chrysoline de Gastines and Kenza Keller open up in a joint interview — a heartfelt conversation about motherhood, creativity, and what brings them together.
How did you two meet?
Chrysoline: You kindly introduced me to the brand when I was pregnant with my son Georges. I immediately fell in love with the universe of talm, but more than that, I was truly won over by the products : I loved the textures, the scent… the whole experience.
Kenza: That makes me so happy to hear. We started chatting a lot on Instagram, and then I came to your offices to give you a talm presentation. That’s when we finally met in person, it was such a great moment.
Chrysoline: …The magic of Instagram.
What sparked the idea for this collaboration?
Kenza: We wanted to merge our two worlds: Balzac Paris’s iconic leopard print and talm’s two cult products : the Mega Oil and the Mega Balm. The goal was to create the perfect gift for all mothers, future mothers, or new moms. Mission accomplished, this pouch is absolutely adorable.
Chrysoline: I completely agree, it’s a real success. You’ve got talm’s signature products in a super desirable, highly responsible pouch that you can reuse however you like.
If we had to sum up our brands in a few words?
Chrysoline: How would you describe Balzac Paris, Kenza?
Kenza: I’d say: classic, quirky, and responsible. And you, how would you describe talm?
Chrysoline: I’d say: the mama in all her glory.
Kenza: I love that.
Let’s talk leopard: why this print for our pouch?
Chrysoline: At Balzac Paris, leopard is our navy blue. It’s the most iconic symbol of our classic-but-bold DNA.
What’s inside the pouch?
Kenza: Inside, you’ll find the Mega Oil, talm’s iconic skincare oil and the Mega Balm. It’s all about a two-step routine: apply the balm in the morning, and the oil at night. The products are organic, safe, and approved for use from day one of pregnancy, during breastfeeding, and throughout the post-partum period.
Chrysoline: They’re absolute essentials. Personally, I still use them, I’m totally hooked. And beyond that, I love that I can also use them on my kids. It’s a must-have for the whole family.
Kenza: Exactly, we’ve done pediatric testing too
Any unexpected ways to use the pouch?
Chrysoline: I have so many ideas for this pouch.
I could totally take it to a wedding as a mini handbag.
Another super chic option: a snack bag for my kids… though they might show it off too much or end up losing it! And you?
Kenza: I had another idea: when you go to the maternity ward to give birth, your friends, family, or partner could fill the pouch with little love notes for you to read during or after the birth.
Chrysoline: A pouch full of love notes. I’m obsessed!
A meaningful memory of motherhood you’d like to share?
Chrysoline: I have so many! Georges is eight months old now, and knowing he’s my last baby, I really savored that feeling of holding him skin-to-skin just after birth… I replay that moment in my head when I can’t fall asleep, and suddenly, I drift off peacefully. It’s magical. There’s nothing more beautiful.
Kenza: I feel the same. That’s one of my most special memories too. Also, the first time my daughter said “mama”, that was just mind-blowing.
The best gift you can give a mother?
Kenza: Honestly? Time for herself, like a good massage. Something just for her, not just for the baby. We’re tired of getting yet another onesie or stuffed animal, we want gifts for us, too!
