Kitesy Martin Studio + talm: the bond as a manifesto

When two universes meet around a shared vision of design and contemporary motherhood, a singular piece can come to life.

Mega bond was born from the collaboration between talm and Kitesy Martin Studio. Together, we reimagined the traditional pregnancy bola, creating a piece designed to move through life's stages and to be worn well beyond pregnancy. More than a piece of jewelry, it is a bond. An object that accompanies, evolves, and stands the test of time.

We spoke with Kitesy about this collaboration, the idea of connection, and her desire to create a piece that is modern, lasting, and full of meaning.

How did this collaboration between talm and Kitesy Martin Studio come about?

Kenza and I have known each other for some time. During a lunch together, she suggested creating a piece for talm. This collaboration is rooted in mutual respect. We are both entrepreneurs and truly value each other's work. I deeply admire what Kenza creates and her energy.

What made you want to create this project with talm?

To bring a touch of Kitesy Martin Studio into talm and to merge our two worlds.

In your view, what connects the world of talm to yours?

talm and Kitesy share a similar universe in terms of design and product: both impactful and minimalist. We each love timeless pieces and transversal products. A necklace that can be worn in two different ways, or an oil that serves different moments in life.

How did the idea for Mega bond come about?

I wanted a bola necklace that you could wear without thinking of it as a bola. It's actually very close to talm's products. This necklace can be worn during pregnancy, before or after, and in any way one wishes.

How is this bola different from traditional bolas?

What makes this bola different is its versatility, the mix of gold and silver, and its modernity.

What does the name "Mega bond" mean to you?

It represents the strong connection we can have with another being, a bond that can be embodied in an object.

What did you absolutely want to convey through Mega bond?

I wanted to bring a sense of cool to objects that are usually associated with pregnancy.

Why was it important for this piece to evolve beyond pregnancy?

I love products that last. True luxury is an object that lives on over time.
A bola often carries many memories, and it's a shame to stop wearing it after pregnancy (which is usually what happens with a traditional bola).
I really wanted Mega bond to become an item that people keep with them for a long time, which is why it was important to design it to be versatile. It can be worn as a bola or a choker, customized further by removing or detaching parts of the necklace, and some pieces can even be kept as a keychain or charm.

What memory do you hope this piece will leave over time?

A sense of softness and strength at the same time. Which, to me, is what being a mother is all about.

What message would you like to share with future mothers through this piece?

That motherhood means being many people at once and that it pushes us (or allows us) to adapt to every situation.
